The killer's home turf - Whitechapel High Street (1905)This website is a reproduction of a live Twitter project I ran for four months in 2012 in which I posted real-time events surrounding the notorious murders which took place in Whitechapel in 1888.
The project mainly follows the victims of the serial killer dubbed "Jack the Ripper" in the days leading up to their deaths, as well as giving newspaper coverage for insight into the social attitudes, hysteria and political climate of the time.
The dates of the murders are highlighted on the calendar in red for quick reference, and some colour coding has been done to indicate different narratives running concurrently. You can read a bit more background and some of my personal views here.
